I’m a drummer, musician, recording engineer, and producer.

Music has been my life since I started playing drums to get out of French class in 8th grade. I toured domestically and internationally in the mid 2000s with North Carolina-based band called Far From Nowhere.

In 2010, I relocated to Chicago where I live with my wife, our two little boys, our dog Auggie and cats Brutus and Antoni.

These days I play and record with with Baby Money & The Down Payments and BlackGlass. I’ve also recorded with Lou Heneise, Bad Bad Meow, An Issue Alive among others. Check out a selected discography here.

I currently offer remote drum recording from my home studio Eighth & Grace Recording. Click here to learn more about my musical journey or to have me join you on yours.

I started a podcast during the pandemic.

It’s called Hello I Am Human. On this show I’m talking with people that inspire me with the honesty they bring to their music, their art, their food, or just how they live their lives.

My hope is that, through these conversations, we’ll help each other see that we’re not alone. That we all go through so many of the same things. Maybe then we can start being kinder to ourselves and to each other and together, we can make the world a little better for all humans.  If you’d like to know more about it, click here to visit HelloIAmHuman.com

Orange and white name tag with the words Hello I Am Human written on it.

Among all the things I do, I’m a deep thinker on a path of self-understanding.

I’ve been writing my whole life whether it was songs or journaling. Around the same time I started the podcast, I also started blogging. For an extrovert who became a stay at home parent a year prior, the further isolation of the pandemic became a season of intense introspection. For the first time in my life I decided to share these thoughts with others instead of keeping them confined to my stacks of journals in an effort to understand myself better while maybe helping someone else have a moment of connection with the thoughts I was sharing. You can read some of those below.

Thanks for coming by. I hope you’ll stay a while. If you’re interested in working together or dropping me a line, click here to contact me. Much love to you.

I am who I say I am, but only when I can.

You know why they tell you to “act as if” when you’re trying to accomplish a goal? Because that’s quite literally the thing that has to happen for the goal or dream to be realized. I think it’s a lot harder than some people think to do that, especially if their feelings are at stake. If you say you’re the person that does big bold things then you have to start taking big bold actions. If you say...

If it’s the last thing I ever do.

We all have an internal clock. A rhythm we naturally fall into if we’re allowed, and times that we’re better at doing certain tasks than others. I’m not quite sure yet if writing just before bed is my most coherent time, but it certainly has always been a time when I feel introspective. Which isn’t always a good thing when I’m trying to go to sleep instead of sitting...

This little light of mine…

Did you instinctually read that like you’re singing it? That’s definitely how I wrote it. “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” That’s definitely how I wrote it. I remember being at maybe vacation bible school when I was around 10 or so and singing this song. It felt good then and it feels good now. I feel like I was today years old though when I...
